It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. Late April to May, numbers of animals come out for green grass and water so Spotting them becomes easy. Your packed lunch will be served on the crater floor at the picnic site near Lerai forest or hippo pool. Many crater visitors want to see rare species, “the Balck rhinoceros’, this is the right time, because during the dry season is very hard to see them as they are afraid of sun burn. Late afternoon ascend the crater for your dinner/overnight on the crater rim view lodge Karatu.

Day 8: Karatu to Lake Eyasi a visit to the Bush men. After breakfast you will drive to Lake eyasi where you will get chance to see the native and more cultured people known as Hadzabe. With the similarity to the Bush men of Kalahari Desert of Southern Africa, it will be you time to feel the African atmosphere feels you trip. The Hadza or Hadzabe are an ethnic group in north-central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. The Hadza number just under 1000. Some 300–400 Hadza live as hunter-gatherers, much as their ancestors have for thousands or even tens of thousands of years; they are the last full-time hunter-gatherers in Africa.
The Hadza are not closely genetically related to any other people. While traditionally classified with the Khoisan languages, primarily because it has clicks, the Hadza language appears to be an isolate, unrelated to any other. The descendants of Tanzania's aboriginal hunter-gatherer population, they have probably occupied their current territory for several thousand years, with relatively little modification to their basic way of life until the past hundred years after this tour you will return to Karatu for your Overnight at Karatu crater rim Lodge FB
