This quaint little town is located 265 km northeast of Dhaka. This is the ‘Tea Centre’ of Bangladesh. Main attractions are the tropical forest of Lawacharra, tribal villages of the Manipuri and Khashia, and the surrounding Tea Gardens covering hilly terrain. The accommodation at the Tea Resort is in individual bungalows or air-conditioned rooms. Meals are prepared and served in the Resort’s own Restaurant.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Leave Dhaka early in the morning by Parabat Express train for Srimangal - also known as the ‘land of two leaves and a bud’, a synonym for the tea gardens and the large quantities of tea produced here. This train leaves 6 days a week except Tuesday from Kamalapur Railway station. It is more convenient to take this train from Airport Railway Station for those people living in Gulshan, Banmani, Baridhara and DOHS area. Upon arrival at Srimongal Railway Station at around mid day you will be received and transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon drive to a nearby tea plantation and visit the Manipuri and Khashia communities. Stop at a local textile weaving workshop on the way. Overnight at the Tea Resort.

Day 2: Start early in the morning for a rewarding wildlife trek through the nearby Lawacharra National Park. This is the best time to observe the abundant and diverse wildlife. As one of the last remaining tropical rainforests of Bangladesh, the Lawacharra forest is home to a large variety of rare and endangered species, the most prominent of which are the Hollock Gibbons. The small tract of dense forests is heaven for birdwatchers, naturalists and adventure seekers alike. After breakfast you will continue with the sightseeing before coming back to the hotel on time to check out of the room before 12 noon.

If you want to stay away on the sightseeing longer please check out of your room after breakfast and leave your luggage in the office or take them in the car. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Srimangal Railway Station for boarding the inter-city train Parabat Express leaving Sylhet Railway Station at 2:45 pm. This train normally arrives at Srimongal Railway Station around 5 pm and runs 6 days a week except of Tuesday. Under normal circumstance this train should arrive in Dhaka at 9:15 pm.
