Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Home - Beijing. Depart for Beijing.

Day 2: Beijing. Arrive in Beijing. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and escorted to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Beijing. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and provide a full day tour including Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Liulichang which has been well known since 17th century Qing Dynasty as the street selling old books, paintings, calligraphy and other arts. Whether you buy or not, it will be an interesting place to visit. In the evening, enjoy Peking Opera in Huguang Guild Hall where the best Peking Opera is performed. You will have dinner in the neighboring Chuwan Hall with excellent cuisine. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Beijing. Today your guide will take you to the Great Wall, Ming Tomb, and Sacred Way. Last stop is at the Beijing’s famous Acrobatic Show. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Beijing. Experience a ride on a tricycle in Hutong (the Old Beijing) and visit a typical traditional Chinese home where you can learn how to make dumplings, enjoy lunch in the home. Visit Drum Tower (Drums were used for telling time in the morning and at dusk and also for music as early as 3rd century BC. Then visit Yonghegong Lamasary, and Shichahai scenic and leisure area with three lakes surrounded by historic places, old style homes and courtyards, and many fine restaurants. This evening, you will have dinner at the famous Kaorouji BBQ Restaurant. After dinner, have a stroll on Wangfujing Street. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Beijing - Urumqi. In the morning, visit Beijing Zoo to see Pandas. And fly to Urumqi. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and escorted to your hotel. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 7: Urumqi - Kashgar. Before breakfast, you will visit People’s Park where you will see groups of local Uygurs and other ethnic people dancing for morning exercise. You are very welcome to join in. After breakfast, fly to Kashgar. Upon arrival, visit Big Bazaar and Live Stock Market. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Kashgar - Turpan. In the morning, visit the Id Kah Mosque, the Old Street and the Abakh Khoja Tomb. In the afternoon, fly back to Urumqi, and drive to Turpan. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: Turpan. Visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda. Explore the Night Food Market. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 10: Turpan - Dunhuang. Visit the Gaochang Ruins, the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave, and Flaming Hill. Special experience of a dinner in a local Uyghur home. Transfer in the evening to railway station and take overnight train to Dunhuang.

Day 11: Dunhuang. Visit the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum. The Mogao Caves (aka Mogao Grottoes, Caves of the Thousand Buddhas) are a system of Buddhist cave temples near the city of Dunhuang. They were a center of culture on the Silk Road from the 4th to the 14th centuries and contain a religious artworks spanning that entire period. There are about 600 surviving cave temples, of which 30 are open to the public.

Day 12: Dunhuang - Xian. In the morning, visit the Singing Sand Hill with a camel ride and see the Crescent Moon Lake. After lunch, you are transferred to airport and fly to Xian. Dinner and overnight. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 13: Xian. Visit Terra Cotta Warriors in the morning, and in the afternoon, visit Huaqing Hot Spring and Banpo Museum built at the site of the habitation of early man from Neolithic period discovered in 20th century, which was a matrilineal commune. Visit a farmer’s family and return to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy special Dumpling Banquet, and then enjoy Tang Dynasty Cultural Show. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 14: Xian. Enjoy a Taichi lesson in the hotel garden with a Master in the morning. Then visit the Tang Dynasty City Wall (you can ride a bike on the wall for the entire length with your guide. Bike will be provided. This can be a highlight of your trip), Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Shaanxi Provincial Museum. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 15: Xian - Home. After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport for your flight home (you may also choose to visit Tibet from here).
