Day 1: Drive to Chiang Mai countryside. Begin hike to Lahu Village.
08:30 Meeting at your hotel in Chiang Mai city. Departure by covered pick-up truck to the Chiang Dao valley. We make a stop to the Chiang Dao Elephant training center to watch the demonstration of elephants working in the forest, pulling and hauling logs. After the show you'll have the opportunity to ride an elephant's back around the valley, for approximately 1 hour, before driving up the mountain to reach our trek starting point.
We begin our hike with a first section mostly uphill, reaching a small village where we will have a pack lunch. Continue for another two hours hike on forested trails to reach our overnight destination. Overnight as guests of a village family in their traditional wooden house. A Thai dinner will be cooked by your guides. Basic comfort, sleep on floor mattresses under a mosquito net, toilets are outside the rooms. Hot shower. Meals included: Lunch + Dinner.
Day 2: Longest trekking day with approx. 5-6 Hour's hike.
After breakfast, we will begin today’s hike. We walk the mountain ridges on well-marked trails offering scenic views. Picnic lunch on the way. Eventually reach a tiny Lahu village on the top of the mountain overlooking the valley. We will spend the night in a simple bamboo hut dormitory style, under mosquito nets.Your guide will cook an excellent Thai dinner tonight.

Day 3: Easy hike down the Maetang River valley. Bamboo rafting experience.
After breakfast, walk through the forest around two hours, mostly downhill to reach the Mae-Tang river valley. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the river’s bank at Maetang River Camp. After lunch, we experience bamboo rafting on a peaceful river before transfer back to Chiang Mai and drop off at your hotel. Meals included: Breakfast + Lunch.
-Participants should be ready to walk for about 6 hours+ on undulating mountain landscape and jungle trails.

-All inclusive package tour, departing from Chiang Mai city, Thailand. We provide experienced trekking leaders and guides. Sleeping equipment, drinking water, 7 meals (Thai cuisine) are provided. You will stay at local family houses which are part of our rural development program. Shared toilets facilities, but clean. This trip is exclusively operated by our company.
We offer mostly private departures, with your own party, or a small group, and your own trekking guide. The private treks brings more value to experience, being able to communicate with your guide and the locals at your convenience. Also, you can hike at your own pace, which sometime is hard to control with a join group tour.
Join tour departure also available during winter season. For those who travel alone or prefer to join a group, we have some specific dates on which individuals can register. Usually join departure tours runs from November through February, which is the best season to trek in Northern Thailand. Ask for details.
