The adventure tour designed with walking and hiking traces, will give you a great deal of variety and allows you to explore the different areas of Armenia. There are a few adventure climbs on this journey. Don’t let the kilometers scare you since the van is always nearby! During the trip you will stay in small country hotels/inns. They are set in a wonderful panorama and they form the perfect base for anyone keen on nature and who want to be in quiet places away from the masses.

Each day our bus transfers you from your lodging to your starting point for that days hike/walk. On these days we will do a nice hike/walk in an area where you will enjoy the beautiful contrasts of nature. Besides the destination, the most important thing about choosing this tour is making sure it suits your interests and physical abilities. You will be walking/hiking for anywere are of 30 minutes to 3 hours each day. Everybody can walk this tour. The best period for the adventure tour is from May till October. Each season has its distinctive beauty.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Early morning Arrival to Yerevan. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel in Yerervan. Check in hotel in Yerevan. Time for resting. Late breakfast. Our Adventure through the territories of Armenia begins today in Yerevan - the capital, one of the ancient cities in the world - Erebouni Fortress which was founded in 782 BC. This is the shuttle to your first walk from the museum of Erebouni to the top of Arin-Berd hill to discover the ancient fortress.

Continuing the city tour, your second stop in Tsitsernakaberd memorial and museum to the 1915 Genocide, one ofthe most impressive monuments in Yerevan. You start walking from the nearest path of Sport and Concert Complex through an alley full of charming beauty. Halfway through your walking tour of Yerevan, you have developed a good appetite; let’s try a “Get Acquainted” Lunch in Armenian Traditional Restaurant. The next stop is the Cascade, which is a huge white stairwell built on a Yerevan hillside in the 1970s, with water fountains running down the sides, all reminiscent of a natural river or stream cascading.

It connects the central district to Haghtanak Park - “Victory” Park to the center of the city. The structure has escalators so that it is unnecessary to manually ascend the stairs all the way to the top. You will enjoy a tour of the most enigmatic of cities, visiting the remarkable Matenadaran Library and Research Institute of Armenia with close to 17,000 rare manuscripts, one of the richest depositories of manuscripts and books in the world.

Day 2: Breakfast served and Check out from the hotel. There are some long days on our journey and today is the first one of them. Starting early morning for Tatev Monastery you pass through the fertile plains of Ararat valley to Khor Virab. Magnificently set against the towering slopes of Mount Ararat, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lays Khor Virap Monastery, presenting us with some quite spectacular photo opportunities not only on the way, but also when you climb up the nearest rock to see the border of Armenia and present Turkey.

On the way to The adventure tour designed with walking and hiking traces, will give you a great deal of variety and allows you to explore the different areas of Armenia., you will taste and enjoy a guided tour of the famous “Areni Winery.” In Armenian, there is a famous saying that “Wine is bottled poetry”. Next, we will take the path through the narrow gorge, revealing Noravank Monastery, nestled inside the deep red landscape of the tuf stone mountains. Lunch will be seved in the historic 12th c. refectory of the Noravank Monastery. Returning to the main highway we shall start driving South to Sisian, on the way, you have a short stop as you enter the Syunik Region. Dinner and Overnight in hotel/private house in Sisian town.

Day 3: Early breakfast. Today there is so much to see and do. Let’s start. Enjoy a shorter walk today in the town of Sisian to Karahunge- 7000-year-old Observatory, the “twin” of the English Stonehenge but more ancient; clouded in mystery, the ancient stone circle of Karahunge is an amazing feat of engineering and the most important pre-historic site in Armenia, but beyond its archeological significance and possible astronomical role, Karahunge is also holds a mystical charm. Karahunge continues to enthrall the imagination and captivate the heart of every visitor.

A small detour takes us to Ukhtasar where you will visit the rock testimonies of the Armenian forefathers, approximately dated 5-2 millennium B.C. These are carved on more than a thousand laid stones. The rock images are the prototypes of manuscripts and completed events through inter-related images and enable us to reveal this ancient people's form of living, worldview and skills.

The road is almost impassable and available only by private car. It’ll take about 2 hours to reach there, but on this adventure way you will encounter "wild" mountains! After descending from this pass we take a rest and have Lunch/Picnic. Driving about 3 km away from Sisian you will discover one of the “7 miracles” of this region - Shake waterfall. We have a long walk, yet easy descent to the waterfall of Shake, passing meadows full of wild flowers. Dinner and Overnight in town of Sisian.

Day 4: After Breakfast leave Sisian for Tatev Monastery in the early morning; on the way you will admire a splendid view of the area. Arriving you the picturesque monastery nestled at the top of an impregnable plateau, crowned by the ramparts walls from the upper part of the territory. After you will have time to discover the interior of the monastery which was founded in the 4th cent., becoming an important religious and educational center of medieval Armenia in 9-10th cent.

Lunch-picnic in the foothills, with the rare view of Tatev Monastery. On your return, you have a very attractive stop in Khndzoresk, a cave village and exotic rock formations. This village looks like a vertical multi-storied rocky amphitheater. Troglodytic dwelling at Khndzoresk – Prehistoric era. Winding road leads your pleasant ascent. Dinner and overnight in town of Sisian.

Day 5: Early breakfast and check out. Your visit to Sevan starts via one of the principal routs of the “Great Silk Road” - Selim Pass, linking the southern region of Vayots Dzor to the eastern region of Gegharkunik with its emerald - Lake Sevan. Lunch in the way
You have a chance to see the unique inn founded as a transit point of the caravan routes as well as enjoy one of the biggest non-saline Lakes. Armenians say - “The stone is our wealth”.

You will realize it visiting Noraduz- the valley of hundreds of stone-crosses -“khachkars”, the typical examples of this unique art of stone-carving. The elegant and beautiful patterns are never repeated or copied. This kind of stone art occurs only in Armenian architecture. Dinner and Overnight stop in one of the Sevan hotels.

Day 6: Waking up for breakfast with the sun reflecting over the shimmering waters of Lake Sevan. Maxim Gorky – the famous Russian writer, once said about the waters: “They are a piece of the sky that descended to the earth among the mountains.” Before and after lunch you have free time for swimming, relaxing or a stroll along the shores of the Peninsula. Lunch in the restuarant of Sevan, tasting the famous fish of the lake.

Later on this day a short transfer to Dilijan (referred to as, a piece of Switzerland in Armenia) continues our journey across Armenia’s fascinating landscapes, with lush environs as well as the site of one of Armenia’s most important resort towns and national parks. An old town with a unique architecture and wonderfully preserved workshops. You’ll also visit the romantic setting of the 11th century Monastery of Haghartsin, where you will witness an unforgettable sunset, as well 10-13th centuries Goshavank Monastery. Dinner and Overnight in the town Dilijan - hotel/private house.

Day 7: Breakfast served. An early rising will ensure that you experience the magical sounds of the gentle murmur the local brooks. This tour provides you with an ideal opportunity to explore the Northern part of Armenia, which is totally different, from its climate, nature as the region cut off from the rest of the country by the mountains and woods of the territory’s mountain ranges. This day your morning will start with an ideal confluence of pure mountain air, the fragrant aroma of the woods and meadows, and the secluded natural environment.

After breakfast, we’ll visit Vanadzor, largely constructed from multi-color tuff stone. We traverse level plains, rivers, gorges, and cross several passes before reaching Kobayer to admire its breathtaking frescos and unique landscape. This walk takes you through the wooded way along a stepped path. On the way, through retained ancient village setting on the slope of the hill, you will get acquainted with inhabitant’s life. After descending from this area, we follow the road of two magical and beautiful monasteries: Aghtala and Haghpat.

Where artistic merits transcend the limits of the national culture. Before this let’s no forget about lunch, a very nice. Lunch in the open air restaurant where you can enjoy the fresh and clear air of the region. These areas are lovely places for walking and exploring. Describing this territory is not an easy task; one must see it. Visit Lori and you’ll have the opportunity to admire the amazing nature and handmade architectural masterpieces of the region. Dinner and Overnight in the hotel of Alaverdy.

Day 8: Early breakfast. In the framework of this day, you will be given an opportunity to visit the largest city of the Shirak region, even though it is the second-largest city in the country: Gyumri. It has always been recognized, not only as well as the city of arts and crafts, but also the city of people with very deep and unique sense of humor, that has helped them to survive even during the worst times of the history of this city, such as the tragic earthquake of 1988, when the city suffered tremendous lose.

Today you will walk and visit the revived and newly reconstructed city with ambitious plans of development, in combination with keeping traditional ways of life and historical centers. Lunch (famous local cuisine made solely from organic food). The region is full of wonderful architectural sights and natural monuments. Depart from Gyumri for Marmashen Monastery. It sits in an oasis of apple orchards overlooking the Akhuryan river. Dinner and Overnight in hotel of Gyumri.

Day 9: Early breakfast. Today you will begin you final walk. It will be full of spectacular scenery. This part of Armenia, especially Mt.Aragats, has always attracted the attention of travelers, tourists and geologists due to a tremendous number of historical monuments and beautiful landscapes. The most worthy among them are the four magnificent peaks of the highest mountain in Armenia - Mt. Aragats. The first stage of our trek is the long ascent to the shores of amazing mountainous Lake Kari. Lake Kari a small crystal-clear lake nestled close to the southern peak of Mt. Aragats at a height of 3207m and covered mostly by snow and ice.

So, we have picked the best of the best to climb one of the peaks with combination of a luxury hiking adventure that is sure to please your eyes, feet and soul. Come let your eyes roam along the horizon, and breathe deeply! Lunch between four summits of the mount. Upon our decent from the mountain, you will take part in the traditional Armenian table lavash making in Mughni. Try to make Lavash by yourself and taste it. You enjoyed the last adventure here and return to Yerevan. Check in – in your same hotel in Yerevan.

Day 10: Early breakfast. The day is yours to enjoy the Capital, visiting Vernisagge (an open air handicraft market) and open-air Art gallery, stores and lovely shops, bazaar where you can taste the rich yield of our Blessed Ground such as luscious fresh and dried fruits, flavorsome vegetables and delicacies. Tonight we meet for a farewell dinner in a typical Armenian Restaurant with live Armenian music and Folk Dances and celebrate our wonderful journey!
