Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival. Upon your arrival at Kinombe airport, transfer to the hotel two kilometers from town. Take a rest, then after lunch enjoy a city tour with stops at the genocide memorial sites and other places of interest. Overnight stay at Hotel Des Mille Collines BB.

Day 2: Kigali - Parc National de Volcans. After early breakfast, drive to the park for a briefing on the gorilla sanctuary. The whole day is dedicated to trekking, as it's unpredictable how many hours it may take to reach a group of gorillas. It's advisable to carry packed lunch, which can be arranged with your hotel the night before. It is advisable to carry only non-flash cameras. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel. FB.

Day 3: Parc National de Volcans - Akagera NP. Drive to Akagera National Park for an afternoon or evening game drive, where you may see many night birds and animals. After this, overnight at Akagera Lodge (FB).

Day 4: Akagera NP. After an early breakfast you go for a morning game drive for a close encounter with animals such as zebras, several antelope species and giraffes. Later go for a boat cruise on Akagera river which meanders and creates a beautiful landscape of lakes, marsh, hills and all the living animals in it. Overnight at Akagera Lodge (FB).

Day 5: Akagera - Nyungwe Forest National Park. Drive to Nyungwe Forest via Ruhengeri reach Butare for lunch. Butare has a very nice museum, well worth a visit. After lunch continue to Nyungwe Forest. The tarmac road takes you across the whole forest, with beautiful viewing of the park and the surrounding hills. Overnight at ORTPN Rest House (FB)

Day 6: Nyungwe Forest NP. After breakfast there will be an early morning game drive for a close encounter with large mammals such as elephants, leopards, golden cats, bush pigs and black-fronted duiker. In the forest is a network of 50 km of forest hiking trails. These footpaths access a divers with dramatic panoramic views. There are 10 marked trails and the experienced guides will let you see and know the wonders of the African Tropical rainforest. Overnight at ORTPN Rest House (FB).

Day 7: Nyungwe Foresr NP. After breakfast there will be a primate walk in search of the primates like chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and colobus monkeys and many others as mentioned above. This is a whole day activity accompanied by park rangers and trained guides. Overnight at ORTPN Rest house (FB).

Day 8: Departure. Depending on your flight time, have an early morning breakfast before leaving for Kigali airport. If departure is later, one can visit the craft villages and shop around at other places with the help of the driver/ guide. Leave for the airport in plenty of time for your flight.
