Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Amman. Jordan. Today land at Amman International Airport under your own arrangements. On arrival you will be met by a M20394 representative, assisted with the immigration formalities, then transferred to your chosen hotel. Accommodation: Stay for 2 nights at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (Guest Room)/Four Seasons Hotel (Deluxe Room).

Day 2: Jerash and Amman. This morning drive to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. Here you will tour the ruins including the distinctive elliptical forum with its beautiful Ionic colonnade, Hadrian’s Arch, the Hippodrome and the Temple of Artemis – the site’s most splendid monument. Following a home cooked lunch in a Jordanian village, return to Amman for an orientation drive around the Jordanian capital.

Day 3: Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Little Petra. Arrive Petra. After breakfast drive to Mt. Nebo, from where Moses first saw the Promised Land. The church here has fine mosaics and commands wonderful views over the Dead Sea. Close by in the bustling market town of Madaba you will have a short walking tour. The town is noted for its Ottoman houses and detailed Byzantine mosaics, including a historically significant 6th century mosaic map. After lunch drive to Petra and visit Little Petra (Al Beidha) with its mini Siq, then check-in at your hotel. Accommodation: Stay for 3 nights at the Movenpick Petra (Standard Room)/Movenpick Petra (Junior Suite).

Day 4: Petra. Petra by Candlelight. Start the day with a privately guided tour of ancient Petra lasting between 2 to 3 hours. The site is approached via the Siq, a dramatic narrow gorge of striking beauty hemmed in by cliffs up to 80 metres in height. After 1.5 kilometres the stunning edifice of the Treasury (El Khazneh) emerges dramatically through a narrow gap. Further on the intricately carved Royal Tombs, Street of the Facades, High Place of Sacrifice, Qasr al Bint and the enormous Monastery (El Deir) all wait to be discovered. A buffet lunch will be provided within the site. The afternoon is free to continuing exploring Petra independently. This evening experience the unforgettable spectacle of Petra by Candlenight (operates Mon, Wed, Thu only) when the Siq and forecourt of the Treasury are bathed in the soft flickering light of thousands of candles.

Day 5: Petra, Wadi Rum. This morning there will be a second opportunity to visit Petra. In the afternoon drive south to explore the stunning desert valley of Wadi Rum by 4WD vehicle. This vast timeless and starkly beautiful place where uniquely shaped mountains rise out of the rose-red desert was used by T. E. Lawrence as his headquarters during the Arab Revolt of 1917 – 18, and was the location for many shots in David Lean’s epic film ’Lawrence of Arabia’.

Day 6: Kerak, Bethany, Arrive Dead Sea. After breakfast visit the huge Crusader and Mamluk castle of Kerak with its awe-inspiring ring of walls. The castle was once under the control of Raynald de Chatillon, one of the most daring and controversial of the Crusaders. Next, drive the banks of the River Jordan to visit the important Biblical site of Bethany Beyond the Jordan where Christ was baptised, then continue on to the Dead Sea – the lowest point on earth above sea-level. Accommodation: Stay for 2 nights at the Movenpick Resort & Spa (Deluxe Room)/Kempinski Ishtar Spa & Resort (Ishtar Deluxe Room).

Day 7: Dead Sea. Today will be at leisure at the Dead Sea. Here you may experience the unique sensation of floating cork like in its waters, indulge in spa treatments, and benefit from the region’s special dry climate with its weakened ultraviolet radiation and high oxygen content.

Day 8: Farewell to Jordan. Transfer to Amman International Airport and check-in for your onward flight.
