Day 1: Entebbe - Kamapala. On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide who will then transfer you to Kampala for overnight at either Serena Hotel, Common Wealth Country Resort Munyonyo (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium classic accommodation) or Fairway Hotel (low Budget accommodation).
Day 2: Kampala - Mabamba Wet Land Swamp. After breakfast, you will set off to Mabamba Wet land swamp while birding enroute. Watch out for the rare Shoe bill stork bird, lesser Jacana, Blue Swallow, Black Shouldered Night Jar, Afep Pigeon, Blue Breasted Bee Eater, Papyrus Gonolek, White Winged Warbler. Spend the whole day birding in this wet land and the surrounding areas.
Picnic lunch at the Camp, return to Kampala late evening. Overnight at either Serena Hotel, Common Wealth Country Resort Munyonyo (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium class accommodation) or Fare way Hotel (low Budget accommodation).
Day 3: Kampala - Lake Mburo National Park. Depart Kampala for Lake Mburo National Park birding enroute, having a stop over at the equator line for photos. Lake Mburo has a very respectable bird list with around 315 species recorded to date including the Shoebill, Papyrus yellow Warbler, African Finfoot, Saddle billed stork, Brown chested wattled plover, Carruther's Cisticola, Great snipe, Abyssinian ground horn bill and white winged warbler.
Acacia woodland bird species are found in Rubanga Forest. Overnight either at Muhingo Lodge (high end luxurious accommodation), Mantana Tented Camp (medium Class accommodation), or (Rwonyo Camp Low budget) accommodation. Approximate driving time is 4 - 5 hours.
Day 4: Birding in Lake Mburo. Early morning bird watching while on a game drive, expect to see, Brown Chestted Plover, Red faced Barbet, Southern ground horn bill, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Yellow billed oxpecker, African Finfoot, Black collard barbet etc. In the afternoon take a boat ride on Lake Mburo where you will get a chance to spot water bird species such as the Fish Eagle, Cormorants, Pelicans, Heron, the Shoebill etc. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Lake Mburo - Bwindi Ruhija sector. After breakfast, have a game drive while leaving the park and continue through the terraced hills of Kabale the Switzerland of Uganda birding enroute up to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park (Ruhija Sector) best known for Gorillas arriving late evening.
This sector has about 23 Albertine rift endemic that can be seen such as African green broadbill, Graver's Rush, warbler, Short tailed warbler, Rwenzori Turaco, Purple breasted Sun bird, Regal sun bird, Kivu ground thrush, Mantane masked Aplis, etc.
Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp (high end luxurious accommodation), Buhoma homestead (medium class accommodation) or Buhoma community camp (low Budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 7 - 8 hours.
Day 6: Birding in Bwindi. Whole day bird watching in the Impenetrable forest, you are advised to carry packed lunch.
Day 7: Enjoy birding while having fun with Gorillas in Bwindi. Wake up in the morning, have breakfast then get set for Gorilla tracking but first with the briefing, remember to carry packed lunch and all the necessary gears to track the rare mountain Gorillas.
This is one of the unforgettable experiences in the park. About 650 individual gorillas left in the whole world half are Bwindi. Tracking may take 2 - 8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorillas. One may walk a short or long distance in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Bwindi - Queen Elizabeth National Park. Depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park while birding enroute. Queen Elizabeth hosts 606 species of birds including forests and water bird species such as Fish eagle, Egyptian goose, African skimmer, Black Ramped button quail, Red footed falcon, lesser flamingos, Grey caped warbler, white abdim stork ( seasonal birds). Arrive at the park headquarters late afternoon and enjoy the ambience of Mweya Safari lodge. Approximate driving time is 5 -6 hours.
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth. Early morning game drive to Kasenyi area to look for the lion prides and other wild life such as Uganda kobs, Buffalos, Leopards, Hyenas, Elephants. Kasenyi area is refered to as the Kobs mating grounds and it in this place lions target to grab Kobs. Return to lodge for lunch break.
In the afternoon take a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will have a chance of seeing water bird species such as Egyptian goose, Fish eagle, Cormorants, Great white pink - backed pelican, Great and long tailed Cormorants, Open - billed stork, African jacana, Malachite and pied king fisher etc as well as hippos huffing and spraying mere feet away from the boat, Buffalos lingering at the banks of the water, crocodiles. Dinner and over night at the lodge.
Day 10: Queen Elizabeth - Kibale. Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park for Kibale forest park bird watching enroute. Arriving late afternoon overnight either at Ndali lodge a stunning location over looking a dramatic Crater Lake (high end luxurious accommodation), Ruwenzori view Guest House. Kibale Forest park has a total of 335 species of birds such as the white collard olive back, leaf love, African broadbill, Will cocks Honey guide, Green breasted pitta, African pitta, Grey winged Robin, Red winged Francolin, Joyful Greenbul, Abyssian Ground Thrush, Red chested fluttail, white Napped pigeon, chestnut winged starling. Approximate driving time is 7 - 8 hours.
Day 11: Whole day bird watching in Kibale. After breakfast, set off for bird watching in the forest, carry packed lunch. Expect to see Ruwenzori Turaco, Grey throated fly catcher, masked and black capped Apalis, Chestnut winged starling, orange tuffed, Tiny sunbirds etc. other interesting primate species will be encountered such as Chimpanzees, Baboons, Monkeys and butterfly species. Return to Camp for relaxation, overnight at the lodge.
Day 12: Kibale - Entebbe. After breakfast, return to Kampala with brief stop at the Nakaima Cultural tree in Mubende, Lunch enroute in Mubende town. Continue to Entebbe International Airport to later Catch your flight back home.
