Zanzibar is part of the state of Tanzania, but with autonomy. There has been great Arabic influence, and walks through the old town with its narrow alleys, strong smells and sounds is an exciting experience.The capital of Zanzibar is Stone Town. Stone Town is on the World Heritage list for its unique history and culture. The city is a maze of narrow streets surrounded by old buildings. The best way to see Stone Town is to go into the maze, even though you may feel a little lost.
Walks through the old town with its narrow alleys, strong smells and sounds is an exciting experience. Make sure that the tour will visit Darjani market, where they sell fish and fruit. You can go on trips to the spice farms where it is grown nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and more. A trip to Prison Island is highly recommended. Feeding the big turtles and learn more about the history of the prison to be used for storage of slaves, but was used as a quarantine station. However, Zanzibar also has fantastic beaches, great diving opportunities. More PADI dive centers, both in Stone Town and hotels on the east coast. Many choose Zanzibar after climbing Kilimanjaro and / or safari.
Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival, meet and greet at the Airport, transfer to Tembo House hotel (or similar hotel). Check inn for two nights in a double room, (sea/ pool view room) on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Morning, after breakfast, at 09:00, guided stone town tour; stone town was declared as world heritage site by UNESCO. With our guide you will walk on the footsteps of Arab Sultans of Zanzibar. Discovery of the wonderful labyrinths of Zanzibar, visit of the historical sites, presentation of the Zanzibar doors, their roles and significance. Return to hotel at noon.
Day 3: depart from Tembo house hotel to Swahili Beach Resort
(Or similar hotel). Swahili Beach is a hotel located in southwest of Zanzibar island. Jozani forest tour en route, Discovery of trees species, mangroves, red colobus monkeys, and other animals’ species. Check inn for three nights at Swahili Beach Hotel (Cabana room) on half board basis.
Day 4: Morning at 08:00 after break fast Dolphins visit, swimming with the dolphins, on return ,near the beach snorkeling, free lunch at a restaurant. Return to the hotel at 14:00, Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 5: Full relaxation at the hotel.
Day 6: After breakfast in the morning at 08:00, Transfer from Swahili beach to Amaan Bungalows (Extreme North of the Island). Spice tour en route, discovery of spices, fruits, coconut climbing, and test some of Zanzibar fruits. Arrive at Nungwi Village at 13:00. Free lunch at Nungwi. Check in for two nights at Amaan Bungalows (deluxe room) on half board basis, Diner and overnight at Amaan Bungalows.
Day 7: Full relaxation, diner and overnight at Amaan Bungalows.
Day 8: Depart from the hotel to the Airport.
Airfare is not included in the tour price.
