KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife manages several top parks, some of which have accomplished great feats, like Hluhluwe-Imfolozi which is actually two parks that have been joined. This park single-handedly saved the Rhino with it's world acclaimed Operation Rhino, which was introduced in the 1960's. This game park has managed to turn the tide on this animal and has seen the numbers of White Rhino grow from around 500 in the 1960's to its current carrying capacity of around 6 000. At least a fifth of the world's Black and White Rhino populations are found in this 96 000ha park. Two of their parks have been accredited with World Heritage status.

Day 1: Our tour departs Johannesburg or Durban and makes it way to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi game reserve, where we will spend our first two nights seeking out the Big 5 and everything else the park has to offer. You will even join the rangers themselves on a night drive in their open safari vehicles to seek out the nocturnal animals. Included: (L, D).

Day 2: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, as in day 1 but with a morning and afternoon game drive. Included: (B, L, D).

Day 3: Aafter a morning game drive we slip into the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park, which is one of KwaZulu-Natal's world heritage sites. On arrival, we will begin our visit by taking a cruise up the estuary to view some of the many hippo's and crocodiles found in the park. This park boasts the largest concentration of these animals in South Africa. After the boat cruise, we head deep into the park where we will spend the night in log cabins located on the beach. The rest of the afternoon is spent relaxing on the pristine beach enjoying the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Early the next morning we can take a short walk along one of the many trails to view the natural lakes found just behind the dunes that separate them from the ocean, or just relax on the beach. Included: (B, L, D).

Day 4: After brunch (some time between breakfast and lunch) we make our way to our next stop which is the Pongola Game Reserve. This park is best known for its large variety of bird life, as well as the great viewing of other game. One of the highlights is a game cruise which is done on the pongola dam. The quite waters allow us to get very close to game that come down to drink. Included: (B, L, D).

Day 5: Day 5 sees us enter our last game reserve, for the last night of the tour. This is the Itala Game Reserve. This parks offers a totally different experience, as the landscape is mountainous. Included: (B, L, D).
