Day 1: Arrival Bangkok.
Arrival at Bangkok Airport, your private guide, vehicle and driver will assist with the transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 2: Bangkok .
Breakfast at your hotel, and we have an early start to get you to Wat Pho in time to experience the monks early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 09.00). After this uplifting and often private experience, visit the temple grounds and the famous 45-metre reclining Buddha. Continue to the Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of the building and its throne halls. Then, of course, marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. Early afternoon, board a private long-tail boat taking guests onto the peaceful Klong Bang Luang. Pass by shop houses, local temples and vendors on this waterway which was once a major trading route and lined with impressive homes of aristocrats. The guide will point out local landmarks and cultural idiosyncrasies of the area. After observing this lively area the boat stops at Baan Silapin, a 100-year old renovated house, now home to an art gallery. Here, stop for up to two hours to enjoy the gallery, take part in an art workshop or explore the local community, before experiencing a unique puppet show performed by puppeteers trained under the Joe Louis School of puppetry (note: puppet show performance not guaranteed due to short notice changes). Day 4: Bangkok – Chiang Mai .
Our guide will meet up with you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, see the best of Chiang Mai, one should not only know where to go, but also when. On our signature city and temples tour, you will first explore ancient Chiang Mai, including its old city walls, gates, moat and markets. After visiting Wat Suan Dok, where the ashes of Chiang Mai’s royal family are interred, you continue to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the temple on the mountain, and the most sacred in Northern Thailand. Your experienced guide will explain the story of the temple, the white elephant and lead you around its impressive chedi and show its beautiful murals. In the late afternoon, the tourist masses have already left the temple grounds and dusk will give a very special atmosphere. After your private blessing ceremony, witness the magical evening chanting of the monks.The tour ends with the spectacularly romantic evening view over Chiang Mai with its millions of glittering lights.Overnight in Chiang Mai. Day 6: Chiang Mai - Phuket .
Our guide will meet up with you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Phuket via Bangkok. Upon arrival in Phuket, your private guide, vehicle and driver will assist with the transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Phuket. (B)
Day 7: Phuket .
Free at leisure to relax on the beach. Uncover the rich and colorful cultural heritage of Phuket as you wander through the historic quarters of this provincial island. The wide array of exotic tropical fruits available in the downtown fruit market will tantalize and satisfy your palate. Explore the oldest Chinese shrine and uniqueness of the Sino-Portuguese architecture that are standing testimonies to the influence of the Chinese migrants during the tin mining days of the 19th century. After the walk, head to the summit of Rang Hill where you get to savor a refreshing cocktail and snack while reveling in the sweeping panoramic view of Phuket town. Cap off the day with a delightful Phuket cuisine at the Natural Restaurant, an eatery which serves excellent food and service in an innovative décor. Overnight in Phuket. (B/D)
