We will give you the opportunity to explore remote, mountainous undiscovered regions encountering hill tribes and traditional communities. Whichever cycling itinerary you chose you will experience lively markets, sacred temples, classic Thai cuisine, beautiful scenery and dramatic skylines.

Day 1: Arrive Bangkok. On arrival in Bangkok you will be transferred to our joining hotel. There will be a group meeting this evening and then time to experience the bright lights of the Thai capital city. Accommodation: Hotel.

Day 2: Bangkok city tour by bicycle.

This morning we will take a city bicycle tour of Bangkok. Travelling on quiet back streets we avoid traffic and discover the historic heart of Bangkok. We can make a stop to visit the famous Temple of Dawn with the largest bronze Buddha image in Thailand, but the tour is also an opportunity to see how people live their everyday lives. Known as the ‘River of Kings’ – it is at the very heart of life in Bangkok. Thousands of people still use its ferries to get around the city. Slow barges transport cargo and children play at the water’s edge. You will see humble wooden dwellings perched along the river bank as well as sky scrapper hotels, temples, churches and European architecture all within close proximity and street food traders. There will also be time for shopping and sightseeing or you can or simply enjoy the atmosphere and the delicious food of the local street restaurants and little cafes. Accommodation: Hotel.

Day 3: Bangkok – Pretchuapp Khiri Khan. This morning we transfer by vehicle to Pretchuapp Khiri Khan. This is a friendly town with a night market and a few bars. Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: Short optional ride.

Day 4: Pretchuapp Khiri Khan - Ban Krut. Shortly after leaving Pretchuapp Khiri Khan we visit a lovely cove located in an air base, where we can stop for a dip in the sea. Today we cycle 75 km on a mix of sealed roads and hard packed dirt trails as we wind our way through coconut and palm plantations. Ban Krut is a small beach town with sea front road where you will find a cluster of restaurants and shops. This evening you can stroll along the seemingly endless sandy beach or take it easy looking out at a warm azure sea right next to our beachside accommodation. Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: 75 km.

Day 5: Ban Krut - Ban Bang Burd. We have time to relax on the beach this morning before setting off for a gentle 60 km cycling along beautiful coastal route. The sea view is never far away. Tonight we will stay in a poolside resort in the little fishing village of Ban Bang Burd. Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: 60 km.

Day 6: Ban Bang Burd - Thang Wu Laen. We have a few climbs and descents today as the road winds away from the coast in places, we cycle though pine forests, banana and rubber plantations and past sand dunes. We come across a large temple with a mix of Buddhist and Hindu statues around it. Thang Wu Laen is a small Thai style seaside town. Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: 80 km.

Day 7: Thang Wu Laen. A well-deserved rest day. Thang Wu Laen town is 15 km north of the town of Chumphon. You can explore the local area by bike or enjoy a leisurely day on the long sandy beach and, of course, a beach side beer. You have the choice of dining in a variety of restaurants. Day 8: Thang Wu Laen - Paknam Takao. Our ride continues south along the Gulf of Thailand following road and track as we make our way along ‘the path less travelled’. Circumnavigating the provincial capital of Chumpon we cycle towards Paknam Takao. Tonight’s destination is a small Thai- style resort where we can dine al fresco on the beach. Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: 107 km.

Day 9: Paknam Takao - Chaiya Beach

Our destination for tonight is Rachabrapha Dam. This evening we can watch the sun set over this stunning lake and dine alfresco on a lovely little plateau that affords a magnificent view of the Kho Sok National park. (Note; the busy national highway is unavoidable for a short distance of 3 km. But you can opt to transfer in the support vehicle.) Accommodation: Guest House. Cycling distance: 95 km.
