Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Beijing-Baotou No meal is included. In the late afternoon, you go to the Beijing Railway Station on your won to collect your tickets (booked by us) and take your night train to Baotou.

Day 2: Baotou Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner are included. This morning, upon arrival at Baotou, your guide is there to wait for you. After greeting, you will be transferred to explore the mountains of Inner Mongolia to discover the imposing Wudangzhao Monastery. Out of nowhere in this beautiful green valley shines this majestic monastery. You feel as though you have arrived in Tibet, with the white walls and surrounding temples. Near the west border to the Kubuqi desert and prepare to explore beautiful sand dunes. As you take a camel in the middle of a sea of sand and you walk away, you will feel quickly to be alone in the world. The blue goes perfectly with that golden ocean. Go through the singing sand to try to hear the drums beat. After this desert escapade, you spend the night at Daqi, a small village near the desert.

Day 3: Baotou Breakfast, Lunch are included. Today, head to the Meidaizhao Lamasery. Giving the appearance of a fortress, you quickly lose that feeling once through the door. In this former residence of Altan Khan, you will discover magnificent palaces. Amidst this Lamasery, which also served as a clearinghouse of Tibetan Buddhism, you can admire many temples and prayer rooms. On the way, you will also visit at a factory of local crafts.

Day 4: Baotou-Hohhot Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner are included. Today, head to the nearest grassland in Hohhot, Xilamuren. In these green meadows you will forget the sweltering summer heat and plunge into a world like no other. Resonant sounds of Naadam festival in Xilamuren will offer you a unique experience. Ride a horse and take part in a Mongolian festival. Programs, songs and dances, Mongolian wrestling, horse racing, archery and many other activities. In the evening, you'll have earned a good night's rest in a Mongolian yurt. Tonight, to soak up more Mongolian atmosphere, you spend the night in a traditional yurt site.

Day 5: Hohhot-Beijing Breakfast, Lunch are included. This morning, still enjoy a few moments on the steppes before returning to Hohhot. In the most traditional district of Hohhot, visit Dazhao Temple. Oldest and largest Buddhist temple in the city, this lamasery contains unparalleled wonders. You can admire the statue of Sakyamuni that the third Dalai Lama came to inaugurate in-person. Do not miss the two protective golden dragons and splendid frescoes depicting the history of Buddhism.

Then, go in the old city of Hohhot to visit the Five Pagodas Temple. Although it remains more than a building, the building is considered one of the finest in the city. The five pagodas overlooking the building is a beautiful view to see. You can even approach them. Then go see the back wall of the temple, which is probably the single chart of its kind in Mongolian. In the early evening, your guide takes you to the Hohhot Railway Station and then you take the night train return to Beijing (including train ticket).
