The landscape of Tanzania is spectacularly varied with high mountains, endless plains teeming with wildlife and a beautiful coastline and ocean. 25% of the total area of Tanzania is dedicated to National Parks and Game reserves. The Serengeti National Park in the north of the country is the oldest and largest park in Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Conservation area has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A unique opportunity to travel with us to Tanzania. We acclimatize thoroughly in the famed volcanoes of the Crater Highlands before crossing the Ngorongoro Reserve renowned for its excellent wildlife. 7 day climb of Kilimanjaro via one of the quieter routes - Machame, Rongai or Umbwe.

Day 1: Fly overnight from UK to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You are met at the airport and transferred in private vehicle to your hotel in Moshi.

Day 2: Start of 4 night/5 day Crater Highlands trek and game viewing. Drive from Moshi in 4x4s. Camp on Ngorongoro Crater rim (2100m). All food, guides, cook and porters provided. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 3: Climb Oldeani Mt (3216m). Return to Crater rim camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Drive across crater floor in 4x4 vehicles. Game viewing. Walk to Embulbul (2400m) for camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Climb Loolmalassin (3648m). Return to Embulbul camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Early start for drive to Moshi (4x4 vehicles). Overnight in Hotel in Moshi. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Start Kilimanjaro climb (5 night/6 day) via one of the quieter routes - Machame or Rongai recommended. All food, guides, cook and porters provided. 1 rest day included. You will be collected from the hotel and driven to the entrance of the park at the Machame gate (1700m). From here you walk up to the Machame hut (3000m). The walk is through quite dense forest and will take about 6 hours. Stay overnight at the Machame hut. The lush rain forest on the lower slopes is home to many beautiful birds and animals. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: Depart from Machame hut and walk to the Shira Cave Camp (3800m). The walk is predominantly across heath and moorland. The walk will take about 4 hours. Stay overnight at the Shira Cave Campsite. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: Departing from the Shira Cave Camp you walk to the Mooyer Hut (4000m). In the afternoon you ascend to Lents Rocks (4500m) for acclimatization before returning to the Mooyer Hut where you stay overnight. The campsite is in the moorland zone, a mixture of rocky outcrops, giant lobelias and senecios. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 10: From Mooyer hut it is a 5 hour walk via a high ridge at 4400m to the Baranco hut (3950m). Stay overnight at Baranco hut. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 11: Depart from Baranco hut to the Karanga camp (4000m). The walk is via the Baranco Wall. The walk will take about 4 hours. You rest in the afternoon and prepare for the big summit day. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 12: You are woken around midnight and walk for 5-6 hours to the summit of Uhuru Peak (5896m). After a short time on the summit you start the descent back via the Barafu hut. After a break you continue down a further 2 hours to the Mweka high camp where you spend your last night on the mountain. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 13: Leave last camp after breakfast and return via Mweke route to Moshi. Spend afternoon relaxing at the hotel or with town visit. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 14: Short transfer back to the airport to catch the return flight to UK.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
