It starts with 3 nights, 4 days at one of the most biological diverse regions of the planet, the Osa Peninsula, visiting the Corcovado National Park and the Caño Island Park. Corcovado is considered the Amazon of Costa Rica, with four types of tropical rainforests, palm forests, coastal lagoons and mangroves. It was recently selected as the best National Park of the World. You will be witness of the confluence of terrestrial and marine environments. Your itinerary continues then with 3 nights at Manuel Antonio National Park, which scenic beauty is without a doubt, a paradise that turns visitors into devotees. Arenal Volcano will provide the time for adventure tours and relaxing time at the healing hotsprings. Tortuguero National Park, which journey is as alluring as the final destination on waterways that runs parallel to the Caribbean Sea and Puerto Viejo, will bring you back to an exotic rainforest with amazing views and the feeling of the calypso music.

It is the perfect combination of nature and luxury. Best time to take it is from January to April or just skip the month of October as it is the rainiest one in the Osa Peninsula.

Itinerary:
Day 1: San Jose. Upon arrival to international airport our driver-guide will pick you up and will take you to the Crown Corobicí hotel for overnight. We will welcome you and give you all documents concerning your trip such as: itinerary, vouchers, brochures and 2 bottles of water. Excellently located just 15 minutes away from Juan Santa María International Airport & 5 minutes away from the San José Capital City. Five star hotel with 213 rooms recently renovated. Day 2: Departure to Drake Bay. Breakfast included at your hotel. Today, our driver will pick you up and will take you to the airport for a local flight to Drakebay. We will inform later flight departure. Upon arrival to Drake, a boat from Aguila de Osa or Copa de Arbol or Drakebay Getaway hotel will meet you and will take you to their properties according to your choice. During the 3 nights in this area you will enjoy the 2 main tours which are: Hiking tour at Corcovado National Park and Snorkeling tour at Caño Island. As one of the last remaining areas of Costa Rica still untouched by large developments, vacationing in Drake Bay is a truly unique experience.

Day 3: Corcovado National Park. Tours during your stay will be arranged according to weather conditions. You will have Corcovado National Park and Caño Island.

San Pedrillo is the closest Corcovado National Park Ranger Station to Drake Bay, located 1:30 minute boat ride from Drake Bay. This beautiful area offers possible sightings of dolphins and other marine and aquatic marine life, passing an island nesting spot for the Brown Booby. Our arrival at the beach location of the Corcovado National Park is a wet landing, so bring your sandals in addition to sturdier footwear for the trails through the National Park. Our bilingual naturalist guide will lead a 3 hour hike through the primary and secondary forest. The rich biological diversity of the Corcovado National Park is astounding. Bird lovers will be enchanted by a wide variety of birds.

Day 4: Caño Island. Caño Island is located 12 nautical miles from Drake Bay. Departure for this tour is at 8.00 am. During the scenic boat ride, which lasts approximately 1 ½ hrs , enjoy mangrove forest frequent sightings of dolphins, marine birds, as well as - in season - whales, false orcas and sea turtles. The 600 acre island is a significant historical archaeological site for Costa Rica, where two of the miraculous and mysterious perfectly round spheres from the pre-Colombian era were discovered along with other historical items. Caño Island is an ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing.

Day 5: Manuel Antonio / Mariposa Hotel. Early breakfast and boat transfer to Sierpe River. Around 10:30 a.m. shuttle transportation service to Manuel Antonio directly to Mariposa Hotel where you will stay 3 nights at an ocean view room. Hotel La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica is magnificently perched on an elevation, overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, the city of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. The scenery of ocean, rainforest and sky is stunning.

Days 6-7: Manuel Antonio Park. One of these days you will enjoy an exciting hiking tour at one of the most beautiful parks of Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio Park. After breakfast, a guide will pick you up and will offer a walking tour through the Manuel Antonio National Park. This park has four interesting geomorphologic features. The first one is the tombolo at Punta Catedral. The second feature is the blowhole at Puerto Escondido, the third one is Punta Serrucho and the fourth one is the pre-Columbian underwater turtle trap at the western tip of Manuel Antonio Beach. The main habitats in the park are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, which cover 18 hectares, and small herbaceous swamps and open water lagoons scattered throughout the interior. The park houses a variety of wildlife. Back to your hotel. Free afternoon to enjoy at the beach. Overnight.

Day 8: Arenal Volcano. Breakfast included. Shuttle transportation service to Arenal Volcano. Lodging will be offered at the 4 stars, Arenal Springs Hotel, junior suite for 3 nights. Arenal Springs hotel definitely rates as a very classy hotel, maintaining a special balance of elegance harmonious with nature.

The view to the Arenal Volcano is impressive. Each suite is designed to give its guest the most impressive views to the Volcano. Allowing everyone the honor of enjoying Gods remarkable creation.

Day 9: Arenal Volcano. Breakfast included. Today you can chose one of the following activities: Peñas Blancas Safari boat tour, Horseback riding tour to La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Hanging Bridges or a Zip line tour.

Tour Hanging bridges Arenal

This amazing project is located in a wonderful rain forest preserve with 250 hectares protected land. You can go into the natural paradise along walking trail of three kilometers passing 15 bridges, six of them are hanging bridges with an spectacular design as a secure – enjoyable adventure to see the forest from the ground (like a Jaguar) from the middle (like as Monkey) and from the treetops (like an Eagle)… One of our hanging bridges is called The Waterfall Bridge and is over 60 meters high off the ground. Another one is called The Tyra Bridge and is 98 meters long, just to give you an idea.

Horseback riding to the Fortuna waterfall. Horseback riding and hike to the La Fortuna waterfall is an exciting morning or afternoon activity. Enjoy a pleasant horseback ride through pasture and rainforest for about an hour.

Safari Float in Canoa

We start with a brief 20 minute drive to the lower Peñas Blancas River in an air-conditioned van. From there we launch inflatable rafts on this slower moving section of the river. Enjoy a relaxing 2 hour float with no motor, only the incredible sounds of nature around you. The expert bilingual naturalist guide will describe the many different flora and fauna of the region. The second part of the tour includes a stop at the farm of Don Pedro Farm. This is the highlight of the trip for most tourists. Shake his hand; calloused from many years of hard work. Our guide will translate as you enjoy a visit with this fascinating man.

Day 10: Arenal Volcano/ Day at Leisure. Breakfast included. Free day to enjoy at this beautiful hotel or for taking any other optional tour such as Hiking to Arenal Park, Sky trek, White Water Rafting, among many others.

Day 11: Tortuguero National Park / Pachira Lodge. Around 5:00 a.m. We leave your hotel in Arenal with destination to our beautiful Caribbean Coast. You will be taken to Guapiles to El Ceibo Restaurant where you will enjoy a typical breakfast and will be met later by an English speaking guide from Pachira Lodge. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packing plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica’s prime products (subject to availability). Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you.

Day 12: Pachira Lodge Hotel B-L-D. 6:30 a.m. Optional morning tour: Enjoy nature at its best as you undertake a journey through the canals, a network of navigable waterways of great scenic beauty crosses the park from southeast to northwest. The canals and marshes are the habitat of 7 species of tortoise. They also provide shelter to the endangered West Indian manatee (Trichchus Manatus) and the rare crocodile (Crocodylus acutus). Back to the lodge for breakfast. Get ready to hike Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well-known Tortuguero Canals.

Day 13: Puerto Viejo / Le Cameleón. Breakfast included. Around 9:00 a.m. boat transfer to the dock and land transportation to Siquirres where a shuttle transportation service will pick you up and will take you to the beautiful South Caribbean. The Cahuita National Park has an extension of 2,732 terrestrial acres and 55,200 marine acres. The park protects beaches and lowlands of the southern Caribbean coastal region of Costa Rica. Scuba and snorkeling are allowed in the protected marine area, which contains a coral reef and associated sea life. The southern beach is a known nesting ground for several varieties of sea turtle.

Day 15: San Jose. Breakfast included. Free morning to enjoy at the hotel's facilities. Around 2 p.m. shuttle transportation to San Jose. Overnight at Crown Corobicí. Or at the new Hilton Hotel.

Day 16: Departure. Breakfast and transportation to International Airport according to your flight information.
