Ladakh is far too kaleidoscopic to be dismissed with a string of platitudes. Its people, even the meanest peasant, are imbued with a culture handed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. Ladakh is the most interesting destination of the country to visit, that one could possible imagine. It fulfills almost all the expectations of the traveler who is prepared to see it through his own eyes, to experience it through his own emotions, to comprehend it through his own sensibility. Popularly known as "Hermit Kingdom". Ladakh is a land of snow carved peaks, translucent Lakes, barren terrain and mystic culture. Quite like Tibet, it has a great Buddhist tradition which is evident from the high monk to people ratio of 1:8.

Also known as Little Tibet-One of the most exciting areas in Ladakh, The Nubra Valley is approached after crossing Khardung La (17,300 feet) the second highest motorize pass in the world. This valley is a gateway to Siachen glacier - the largest valley glacier of the world (80 Kms). The famous silk route also passes through this valley up to Panamik hot springs from where it turns east over Saser La and then goes on to Karakoram Pass and Central Asia. Nubra valley houses some of the finest and remotest monasteries.
