The area known in the past as the Great Moravian Empire, with a landscape shaped by two mighty rivers, is the location of this tour. Times have changed! When confronted with the peacefulness of this beautiful countryside characterized by forests, vineyards and romantic creeks flowing from the rivers, it is difficult to imagine the turbulent past of fights and border feuds were it not for the presence of so many monuments and the variety of architecture.

You will find examples of roman, Gothic, renaissance and baroque styles in abundance. You will also be stirred by the friendliness of the Moravian people. Maybe it is the high consumption of wine and Slivovice (home made plum brandy) that keeps them in a good mood all the time. This area is also well known for its good food and local wine.

Join our tour to discover this charming wine-growing region in South Moravia, close to the borders to Slovakia and Austria. One of the cycling days will take you to Austria, so that you will have a chance to compare the landscape and countryside in the Czech Republic and Austria from the bike saddle!

We will ride through an enchanting countryside of South Moravia as well as a uniquely preserved valley of the river Dyje, and through the flatlands with innumerable vineyards and a number of opportunities to sample the wine in small wine cellars.

What is more, this area boasts some of the oldest settlements in the country such as Znojmo, a picturesque town founded as early as the 6th century, or the jewel of Renaissance architecture, the UNESCO heritage complex Lednice-Valtice Area, a heritage given us by the Lichtenstein family. It is an area full of splendid and amazing architecture and natural monuments.

Biking in this rural region with a distinct living musical and vine-growing tradition can become one of the most pleasant and enjoyable vacations of your life! Last two days are reserved for you to exploring of the most famous central European town, the capital of the Czech Republic - Prague.
