The beautiful landscapes of Ethiopia, and the sometimes wild and dramatic terrain, make Ethiopia a perfect hiking country, whether you are looking for a trek across the vast moorlands of the Bale plateau, or the Simien Mountain, the dramatic countryside around Lalibella, or the wilderness of the Awash River, camping under the height of a thousand stars. Less strenuous, and more relaxing, are the pleasant local trails that flow the banks of Rift valley lakes, or resort areas close to Addis Ababa, such as a walk through the vineyards of Ambo.

Day 1: Arrive in Addis Ababa.

Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Gondar.

Fly to Gondar. The rest of the day visit attractions in Gondar that includes: Castles of Gondar- included in the World Heritage List, the royal Fasiledes Bath and the Church of Debre Berhan Selassie with its unique murals.

Day 3: Drive to Debark Town.

Drive to Debark town (104 Kms), where the head quarter of Semien Mountains National Park is found. Then we continue driving to Sankaber (31 Kms) the first campsite of the National Park. On this drive you will gain your first impression of the scale and beauty of this highland region, the extraordinary scenery, enjoying the endemic Gelada Baboons and the bone breaker giant bird Lammergeyer roaring around.

Day 4: The High-Lying Geech Camp (5 Hours).

After a short walk to Enjinbara Falls you proceed on Mules to the high-Lying Geech camp (5 hours). This is The Most Arduous day’s Trek, taking you through cultivated areas and then into the Afro-Alpine Zone proper where Giant Lobelias trees stand like sentinels presiding over their unworldly landscape you should encounter troops of the Endemic Gelada Baboon the males have shaggy, leonine Manes and Bleeding Heart patches on their chests. Rueppell’s Griffons, choughs and Lammergeyers are often seen. Stay in Geech camp (ALT.3660M).

Day 5: We Trek to Chenek.

We trek to Chenek, we will be walking through the Giant lobelia trees and under these trees African field Rats are common. After picnic lunch we walk on the edge of Enatye escarpments (4000m. above sea level), which is another breathtaking view in the national park; finally we descend to Chenek. Chenek is the best place to see the endemic Waliya Ibex and more Gelada Baboon. It takes 6 - 7 hours walk.

Day 6: To Ambiquo Climbing Buhit.

We walk to Ambiquo climbing Buhit (14530ft/4430m) Mountain the 2nd highest peak next to Ras Dashen in Semien Mountain ranges, giving excellent views over the whole area. After, refreshment at the summit, you descend towards Chero Laba crossing the Mesheha River, we will reach to Ambiquo and resting for the night here, before the big day on Ras Dashen. The walk of this day takes 7- 8 hours.

Day 7: To Ras Dashen.

Very early morning start walking toward mount Ras Dashen.You gets up in the pre dawn chill for what will be the most challenging day of the Trek. To reach the summit can take up to 6 hours. You will head up the valley from campsite to the small village of Mizma, from where you will climb steeply up wards, eventually reaching an impressive amphitheater made up of three major buttresses of expanded rock, one of which is your goal, Ras Dashen. It is then an easy scramble to the summit, Ras Dashen, which is the highest peak of the country (14901ft/4543m). After taking in the impressive views descend back to Ambiquo for an overnight. The whole round trek takes from 8-10 hours.

Day 8: Bohit Mountain.

You walk back to Chenek passing through the side of the Bohit Mountain. Overnight is camping at Chenek campsite. (3600m) this day takes about 6-7 hours walk.

Day 9: Visit the Felasha.

Here you will be picked up by the vehicle and drive to Gondor. On your way back visit the felasha “Ethiopian Jewish” village for their clay makings and their villages.

Day 10: Fly back to Addis Ababa.

Morning transfer to the airport to fly back to Addis Ababa and connect your flight.
